The Alabama Crimson Tide will play the Clemson Tigers in the 2016 College Football National Championship Game. What channel is the national championship on?
The 2016 College Football National Championship Game will be between the No. 1 Alabama Crimson Tide (14-0) and the No. 3 Clemson Tigers (13-1). These two Power 5 champions will meet at Raymond James Stadium for an 8:00 p.m. ET kickoff. What channel will the national title be on?
No doubt that the 2016 College Football National Championship Game will be on the network that does the best job of covering the sport: ESPN. Covering the national broadcast in the booth for ESPN will be Chris Fowler and Kirk Herbstreit, with Samantha Ponder as the sideline reporter.
This is a rematch of the 2015 College Football National Championship Game. Last year, No. 2 Alabama defeated No. 1 Clemson 45-40 at University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale on January 12th. It was a game for the ages with Alabama’s special teams being the difference in that title bout.
Once again, the perceived two best teams in college football will meet at a neutral site, this year in Tampa, to play for it all. A win for Alabama would give Crimson Tide head coach Nick Saban his fifth national title since arriving in Tuscaloosa a decade ago. Should Clemson win, it would be the first championship of the Dabo Swinney era in Clemson and the school’s first national championship in football since 1981.
Alabama is a 6.5-point favorite over Clemson at neutral-site Raymond James Stadium. The Crimson Tide have arguably the best pass rush college football has ever seen. It’s okay, as Clemson will combat it with one of the best signal callers of the last 10 years in junior Heisman finalist quarterback Deshaun Watson.

This one will likely go down to the wire, probably being decided by a touchdown or less. The 2016 national title might be a tad regional for national viewers, but do recognize that these are the two best teams in the country. It should be a great one on Monday night in Tampa. Tune to ESPN to watch the 2016 National Championship.
