Alabama running back Bo Scarbrough got his team on the board with a huge 25-yard TD run against Clemson in the National Championship Game.
The Alabama Crimson Tide drew first blood in the 2017 National Championship Game against the Clemson Tigers on Monday night. After the Tigers tried to go for it on a fourth-down play and failed, the Tide and Bo Scarbrough made them pay for their mistakes.
Jalen Hurts methodically drove Alabama down the field and then Scarbrough took it from there. With the Crimson Tide in Clemson territory and ready to strike, Scarbrough took the feed from Hurts and would not come down. He powered his way down the sideline and then was able to dive in the end zone for the score.
This is the same thing that Scarbrough did when Alabama faced the Washington Huskies in the Peach Bowl. Once he got a little bit of space and room to operate, he was virtually impossible to bring down.
He’s just way too strong and powerful for a regular tackle to try and bring down. He also showed incredible balance for his size as a running back. After shutting out the Ohio State Buckeyes in the Fiesta Bowl, the Tigers finally gave up their first points of the College Football Playoff.
With the two teams playing such an anticipated battle in their rematch, everyone was wondering who would jump on the other first. It’s the Crimson Tide this year and their monster running back was off and running early.
