College Football Playoff Championship Game Odds And Prediction

It’s a sad day. Today marks the official end of the 2016 college football season. I made over 750 picks this college football season, with less results than in previous years. However, the bowl games have gone pretty well so far I think. Go figure.

My ESPN Bowl Pick Em Game didn’t go so well. I missed the 42 and 41 point confidence games, which assured I would be nowhere near the top. However, in my straight picks pool, I did much better. We all know the spread is a different animal.

Including this game, there were 42 picks over the bowls and the Army-Navy game. I had two one pointers, six two pointers, 16 three pointers, 12 four pointers, and six five pointers. I went big in bowl games. Stay tuned to see if it paid off!

(2)Clemson vs. (1)Alabama(-6.5) at Tampa, FL(2):

Clemson made short work of what looked like a good Ohio State team this year. This was the first time Urban Meyer has ever been shut out as a head coach, and the first time Ohio State was shut out in the post season since the 1920 Rose Bowl. The Clemson defense somehow looks better than last year, despite losing talent off that unit.

Alabama is not as explosive on offense as it was last season, but the Tide would have still won six games if they did not score an offensive touchdown all season. That’s right. Between field goals and defensive scores, the Tide would have won six of their 14 games. Your offense doesn’t have to be great when you have a defense like that!

I still have questions over just how good the SEC actually was. Bowl season only raised more questions. Meanwhile, the ACC fared the best of all conferences in bowls.

This was a great game last year. Alabama knows what to expect from the Clemson offense this time around, and they are better equipped to stop it. Since it was a three point game last year, I expect it to stay very close again this year. Be on the lookout for a great finale to the college football season!
