Former Alabama Crimson Tide offensive coordinator Lane Kiffin tweeted his support for his former team during the National Championship Game.

The Alabama Crimson Tide went into their rematch against the Clemson Tigers with a bit of an unusual change. After the Crimson Tide defeated the Washington Huskies in the Peach Bowl, they went their separate ways with Lane Kiffin, as he transitioned to being the head coach of Florida Atlantic.

Former USC head coach Steve Sarkisian has stepped in for the Crimson Tide at offensive coordinator for the National Championship Game and the future. If anyone was wondering if there was bad blood at all between Kiffin and the program, it appears that there is not. During the game on Monday night, Kiffin tweeted out support of the program in their pursuit of winning another National Championship.

The tweet featured Kiffin wearing Alabama gym shorts and showing his support for his former running back, Bo Scarbrough. Plenty of times in situations like this, coaches will leave and not be happy with the way they left.

Instead, Kiffin is happy to see his team he just helped coach to the game have success. He’s hoping to turn Florida Atlantic around and start showing some signs of success for their program as well.

While they will certainly be held to much lower standards by virtue of being a smaller school, it will be interesting to see how Kiffin adjusts to being a head coach in football yet again. It’s good to know that he doesn’t hold a grudge.
