After a wild Week 9 of college basketball filled with upsets, here are the Week 10 Big Ten power rankings.

The college basketball season has gotten off to a quick start and it’s hard to believe that we are already entering the 10th week of play. The Big Ten has gotten underway, just like the rest of the country’s league action, and the conference’s best teams are starting to beat up on each other already.

All teams have played either three or four contests and there’s no undefeated team left in Big Ten action — that’s indicative of the type of smash-mouth season it’s going to be. Not only that, but there are only a few teams left from the Big Ten remaining in the AP Top 25 and that might make it seem like a down year for the conference.

However, the field is deep this season and the teams are all on an even playing field. On that note, let’s take a look at what the Week 10 Big Ten power rankings look like.

Call me harsh or call me realistic, but the Scarlet Knights continue to pay rent in the basement of the Big Ten. Just like football season, the Scarlet Knights are finding a way to go winless in conference play and that was after a red-hot 11-2 start to the season in non-conference action.

It seems like firing Eddie Jordan didn’t pay off instantly as this team is still overmatched in conference play. Corey Sanders has the potential to be an elite guard in this conference, but he’s been struggling this season and that might be a reason for the recent five-game losing streak.

When was the last time we saw an Ohio State team this far down on any power rankings? It seems as if Thad Matta is struggling to figure out his team’s identity and the Buckeyes are 0-3 to start Big Ten play. That 0-3 start may not be the end-all for this team, but coming back and contending for a Big Ten title is almost out of the question.

Ohio State has some solid pieces, like Jae’Sean Tate and Marc Loving, but it lost to Purdue at home by a point and on the road against Minnesota. Those aren’t bad losses, but that one-point defeat against the Boilermakers stings and could be the difference between No. 13 in the power rankings and a top-10 spot.
