Millions of people took in the classic that was Alabama vs. Clemson on Monday night. Jim Harbaugh was not one of them.
Monday night the 2017 College Football Playoff National Championship Game was brought to us, and it turned out to be one of the best title games in history. When all was said and done, the Clemson Tigers captured their first national title since 1981 as they downed the mighty Alabama Crimson Tide 35-31 with one second on the clock and ended their 26-game winning streak.
Millions of people around the country took in this thriller, no doubt including a number of other head coaches in college football. Heck, ESPN even has a broadcast dedicated to FBS coaches breaking down the action as it happens.
You know which head coach did not see that epic clash on Monday night? That would be Michigan Wolverines head coach Jim Harbaugh.
Harbaugh was in attendance Tuesday night for the Kentucky-Vanderbilt basketball clash, where he was interviewed during a break. When asked about that amazingness that was the Alabama-Clemson battle, he didn’t have much to offer up because … well, he was sleeping.
Come on, though, are we really supposed to be surprised about this that much? Look, this is Jim Harbaugh, after all. Most people were indeed watching that national title game on Monday night, but as we’ve learned by now, Harbaugh doesn’t live his life like most people.
But, hey, it’s not like he’ll never watch it. Since he heard that it was such a historical game, he’ll go right home and fire up that TiVo.
