Manchester United were the talk of the football world early in the season as their play in the Premier League never seemed to match their cup play. However, they’ve seemingly got the ship righted now, playing up to their potential overall. They’d love to prove that, though, in Tuesday’s EFL Cup match as they welcome Hull City to Old Trafford for the first leg of the semifinal.
Jose Mourinho’s side ousted West Ham handily to get to the semifinal as Zlatan Ibrhahimovic has been playing quite well in EFL Cup play throughout. However, to get the better of Hull at home, Manchester United would love for the likes of Paul Pogba or Anthony Martial to pull through with a big effort leading to a result.
Meanwhile, Hull have gone on a nice run through the tournament to set up this match with Manchester United. After getting past Newcastle to reach this level, they obviously will have their toughest task yet. Adama Diomande will need to step up, though, if they want to pick up an away result.
