Now that we have more details about the Nintendo Switch, here are some links on pre-ordering the system in order to hopefully get one at launch.

Nintendo knows how to build hype, even if that hype is at least partially caused by putting out low initial runs of its consoles. (Looking at you, NES Classic that I still don’t have.) After its Nintendo Switch presentation ran on the evening of Jan. 12, you may be wondering how you can obtain a Switch pre-order for yourself.

Well, GameStop has started putting up signs saying how many pre-orders they’ll accept.

Yeah, that really does say just 24 pre-orders will be available at that store, so expect similar numbers at your local GameStop. You may have better luck on the store’s website, if by “better luck” we mean “the site can handle the traffic”, which is not necessarily the case.

What about stores like Target? Target’s website has a page put up for the Switch. As of this writing, there is no way to sign up for a pre-order, only for additional information, whenever that arrives. Walmart is in the same boat. The Toys R Us listing doesn’t even let you sign up for more information, but we expect that to change soon.

The US storefront of Amazon also has a listing for the Nintendo Switch, but no information on a price point or release date. With Amazon and Nintendo, you often have to be careful to check the sellers of Nintendo products in case they are not fulfilled by Amazon.

With a system like this, it’s best to get your pre-orders in as soon as possible, and in-store might end up providing a better chance.

The Nintendo Switch launches on Mar. 3 around the world and will retail for $299.99Nintendo also will launch an app on smartphones to set up appointments as part of its online ecosystem. There will be a trial period for the online service — and then it’ll switch to a paid service in the fall. The Switch will also not apply region locking to software, according to the presentation.

Good luck if you’re one of the many trying to snag a pre-order!
