Burnley welcome Southampton to Turf Moor on Saturday afternoon in a match that both sides will really fancy their chances of winning. Burnley have one of the best home records in the league while Southampton are fresh off a midweek League Cup victory over a high-flying Liverpool side. Sean Dyche has done such a great job with Burnley in the past few years and it shows that if you give a manager time he can get the best out of supposedly lesser players. Burnley were willing to accept relegation because they knew Dyche could get them back up and then launch a more experienced Premier League campaign. That has shown this year as Burnley are sitting pretty comfortably in 12th place eight points clear of the drop zone.
Southampton are only a point ahead of the Clarets in the table but they should be full of confidence after beating Liverpool in midweek. The Saints were rampant and were perhaps a little unfortunate not to win by more than 1-0. Southampton will know that they can score against Burnley’s defence but they will have to be weary themselves as Burnley always seem to find a way to score at home no matter who the opposition is.
