High Value SF

Robert Covington-Philadelphia 76ers (6,200): Covington has settled into a nice spot in the Philly rotation and is getting enough playing time to be worth a look at this price point. In each of his last six games, he has scored at least nine points while adding enough non-scoring numbers to get to at least 22 fantasy points. He had a monster game with 15-11-1 and five steals for 43.25 fantasy points against Brooklyn last Sunday, and with Joel Embiid out tonight there should be some extra shots for Covington.∗∗∗

Aaron Gordon-Orlando Magic (5,400): Gordon’s roller coaster ride continued last night as he dipped to just 18.75 fantasy points on 8-7-0 against the Trail Blazers. His down night came despite the fact that he played 36 minutes. Before last night’s letdown, Gordon had at least 32 fantasy points in four of his previous five games. He finished with 28-3-3 against the Clippers for 37.25 fantasy points on Wednesday after 18-6-7 for 38 last Friday against the Rockets. In between those games, though, he dropped an inexplicable dud against the Lakers with just 10 fantasy points. Gordon will continue to be a boom-or-bust play in Utah tonight, but the tough matchup makes him even more risky than normal.

T.J. Warren-Phoenix Suns (4,000): Another extremely volatile option at SF is T.J. Warren of the Suns who had 23-6-1 against the Suns for 35.5 fantasy points the last time he faced them, but he has thrown up some bad burns lastly with just 3.5 fantasy points against Miami and 3.25 fantasy points against the Jazz in two of his last five games. Warren’s down games have mostly come after he logged heavy minutes which he did on Thursday in Mexico finishing with 8-2-3 for 15 fantasy points against the Mavs. There’s unquestionably upside with rolling with Warren, but it comes with a truckload of risk.∗∗

Jonathon Simmons-San Antonio Spurs (3,800): If you decide to go under 4K, Simmons is worth a look since he has been logging pretty heavy minutes for San Antonio. Simmons played over 20 minutes for the second game in a row on Thursday and finished with 12-3-3 for 19.75 fantasy points. He has at least 15 fantasy points in four of his last five games and played over 20 minutes in both the Spurs game agains the Suns over the last month. He’s still risky, but can produce when given the time which he should get tonight.
