2. Fire Emblem Warriors Gets a Proper Release Window

As part of the Direct, Nintendo dropped what it’s calling an “extended gameplay” trailer for the already announced Fire Embem Warriors. Just like Hyrule Warriors for the Wii U, it’s putting characters from one franchise into the Dynasty/Samurai Warriors gameplay style. This time, though, it’s with Fire Emblem characters.

The trailer features Chrom from Awakening as he cuts his way through hordes of enemies, as is practically tradition for a Warriors game.

Based on Hyrule Warriors, though, which incorporated characters from multiple games in The Legend of Zelda franchise either as starter characters or via DLC, it seems safe to guess that Fire Emblem Warriors will do the same. Hopefully the cast will be larger than that of Hyrule Warriors. The Fire Emblem franchise has so many main characters that it would be a shame to leave some of them behind.

Additionally, Nintendo announced that a 3DS version of the game will come out as well, though it will only work on New 3DS systems. Presumably it won’t be like Hyrule Warriors Legends and add in new content. However, the Direct didn’t do much more than confirm its existence.

Both versions will also drop this fall, presumably as part of Nintendo’s pre-holiday Mario push.
