Blizzard is heavily in contention for best game company of 2017. Yes, already.

Overwatch’‘s holiday event ended a little over two weeks ago. Before we even had time to start speculating what the next event should be, Blizzard took the guesswork right out by hitting us with these tantalizing tweets.

“Year of the Rooster” looks to be an event that will celebrate Chinese New Year, which falls on Jan. 28 this year. The rooster, of course, is the zodiac animal which corresponds to 2017.

From the videos in Overwatch‘s tweets, we can expect new Mei and D.Va skins at the very least. Both heroes are in the traditional wardrobe of their country, and wearing their country’s colors.

Of course, we are expecting more new skins to also come with this new event. The Overwatch community has not had as much time as they did with the holiday event to imagine the world of possibilities. But rest assured, the community is starting now with a dedicated enthusiasm only the Overwatch fandom could generate.

Note: Sun Wukong is a mythical character in Chinese lore, more commonly known as the Monkey King. With that being said, a Sun Wukong skin for Winston basically creates itself.

According to Polygon, this event will be “similar in scope to previous game events.” Players hope that means the event will last around three weeks just as past events have.

In addition to new skins and items, this could also mean a special brawl on the theme of a new year and roosters. We can’t wait to see what Blizzard has in store.
