Freiburg face Bayern Munich at Schwarzwald-Stadion on Friday, Jan 20. Here’s all the info you need to watch.
The first Bundesliga game after the winter break sees league leaders Bayern Munich take on eighth-place Freiburg. Bayern didn’t enjoy as dominant a first half of the season as they’ve been used to in recent years, as RB Leipzig provided an unlikely title challenge, but they managed to go into the break with a three point lead after winning five league games in a row by a combined score of 14-2. That’s more like the dominant Bayern we’re used to, and after what should have been a refreshing break, they’re big favorites to win another title.
Freiburg haven’t been quite as dominant, but are on a good run of form in the league. They haven’t lost a match since they were beaten 4-2 away at Mainz all the way back on Nov. 19. They’ve generally beaten the teams they would expect to and lost to the league’s bigger sides, which doesn’t bode well with the league’s biggest side coming to town.

Bayern should be confident of another win in their first match back from the winter break to consolidate their place at the top of the table. Carlo Ancelotti hasn’t had the smoothest start to life in Munich, but Freiburg should be easy opponents as he looks to get the second half of his season off to a quick start.
