Watch as Vancouver Canucks captain Henrik Sedin picks up his 1,000th career point against Roberto Luongo and the Florida Panthers.
The Sedin twins have been arguably the best thing to ever happen to the Vancouver Canucks. Henrik Sedin, in particular, has been extremely good for them. He has already reached the 1,000 games played milestone and now Henrik has reached an even more exclusive club – the 1,000 point club. Less than two weeks after Alex Ovechkin entered the club, Sedin has as well.
Much like the Washington Capitals captain, the Canucks captain got his 1,000th point courtesy of a goal. It’s pretty awesome his twin brother Daniel Sedin picked a primary assist for Henrik’s 1,000th point. What makes it even more special is he beat his former teammate Roberto Luongo. Luongo even goes out of his way to congratulate Henrik. What a classy guy.
Sedin becomes the 85th player in NHL history to amass at least 1,000 career points. He is also the first player to do so while spending his entire career with the Canucks. His brother Daniel isn’t too far way, as he is just 32 points away from getting his 1,000th career point. Sedin is just the fourth player from Sweden to get to 1,000 points. Nicklas Lidstrom, Mats Sundin, and Daniel Alfredsson each are also members of the elite club. Henrik is also the third Swedish forward to get to 1,00 points, joining Sundin and Alfredsson. Ironically, each of them did it while playing for a Canadian team.

The Canucks haven’t had too much to cheer about lately, but Sedin has certainly been one of the bright spots on the team.
