Middlesbrough face West Ham at the Riverside Stadium on Saturday, Jan 21. Here’s all the info you need to watch.
West Ham once again showed that nobody is bigger than the club as they dominated Crystal Palace last week without club outcast Dimitri Payet. It looks like Payet has played his last match in Hammers’ colors.
The players stood in solidarity with Slaven Bilic, showing the kind of determination and resilience in the 3-0 victory the east Londoners will need in order to put this mess behind them. Andy Carroll scored a wonder goal from a flying scissors kick and looks like he’s back to the form that endeared him to supporters upon his 2012 West Ham arrival.
Carroll suffered whiplash in the victory but is expected to play on Saturday. It’s crucial for Carroll to stay healthy, even more so now that Payet is all but gone.
The Hammers, with 25 points from 21 matches, climbed to 12th in the standings with the victory over Crystal Palace and, depending on other results, could leapfrog three teams with a win on Saturday.
West Ham broke a two-game losing streak with the win over Crystal Palace and have now won four of their last six matches. Bilic’s side is verging on a mid-table position in the Premier League, exactly where most pundits predicted they’d be.
Middlesbrough are also where most pundits expected, reeling near the foot of the table. Boro, who haven’t won in four matches, are now only four points from safety. Their last two matches, against Leicester and Watford, were both 0-0 stalemates.
They’re the only team in the top flight who haven’t scored or conceded in 2017.
