Ricardo Allen made an impressive interception on a deep pass from Aaron Rodgers.
Very few quarterbacks in the NFL can throw a deep pass like Aaron Rodgers of the Green Bay Packers. His long bombs pretty much defy everything you thought you knew about physics, as the ball drops in a way it shouldn’t ever drop. For this reason, it’s hard to intercept him on deep passes. However, Ricardo Allen of the Atlanta Falcons didn’t get this memo.
Rodgers launches it deep.

That’s a very impressive play from Allen. He pretty much rips the ball away from Jordy Nelson, which is another very hard thing to do. Rodgers makes a good throw here, as he needs to get a lot of yards on third down. It’s a great throw, but Allen simply makes an outstanding play on it. He beats out Nelson for the ball, which is a lot easier said than done. Allen makes an excellent read and hangs on.
The Falcons have been able to force turnovers consistently. This makes up for their occasional lapses of judgment. They give up yards, but not too many points because of their opportunistic nature when it comes to turnovers. The Falcons are outplaying the Packers in every aspect of the game. Considering Green Bay entered Atlanta with an eight-game winning streak, that’s impressive.

As great as they are doing, perhaps Falcons fans should still be a little concerned. Remember what the San Francisco 49ers did to them with the epic comeback? Rodgers is a quarterback quite capable of leading such a ridiculous comeback. So even though the Falcons are going to enter halftime with a 24-0 lead, don’t write off the Packers just yet.
