Mark your calendars because it’s almost time for National Signing Day.
National Signing Day is the most important recruiting day for the college football season. Plenty of recruits, some of which are highly regarded, make their official decision on where they will play their next four years. These high school and JUCO athletes either make their announcements subtle and without fanfare, or host a big event where their entire school attends to hear the decision. Cameras from the national media are often there too.
We may also see players sign their letter of intent. Plenty of them have already verbally committed, but have not put the pen to paper.
Heading into National Signing Day, Alabama has the top-ranked recruiting class, via 247Sports. They have five five-star recruits,15 four-star recruits, and three three-star recruits. Najee Harris, considered by some as the top running back from the 2017 recruiting class, leads the way for the Crimson Tide. He’s also joined by Dylan Moses, who has received attention since his middle days. To cap it off, they have dual-threat quarterback Tua Tagovailoa incoming. He’ll join Jalen Hurts, who broke out in his true freshman season.
Next in line is Ohio State with five five-star recruits and 13 four-star players coming to the program. This includes cornerbacks Jeffrey Okudah and Shaun Wade, both of whom are considered the No. 1 and 2 at their position, respectively. They are loading up after losing a handful of key players to the 2017 NFL Draft.
Other than Alabama and Ohio State, we’ll see Clemson look to stock up for another National Championship run, Michigan look to get talent for a better 2017 season and Florida State tries to get past Clemson in the ACC.
