Texas Tech takes a small step back in our rankings after getting absolutely trounced by Oklahoma State at home this week. The Red Raiders came into the game undefeated at home and were trailing by 16 at the half against a desperate Cowboys team. They did handle business at home earlier in the week against TCU, but this team is still not very battle tested as they inch towards February. They have a major test and a road game against Baylor this week. For a team that has struggled mightily on the road, this would be a chance to make a major statement. Later in the week they see LSU at home, in what should be a winnable game.
Oklahoma State came into the week knowing that they were better than their 0-5 conference record showed. After a home loss to Kansas State, many buried the Cowboys and started to think that their record actually was who they were. Then, they went to Lubbock and made just about every shot against Texas Tech. They went 11-16 from three and showed that there still is some life moving forward. Still, at 1-6 they will have to play this desperate the rest of the way. They have a winnable Big 12 game at home against TCU and have a home non-conference game against Arkansas later in the week. Two wins could revive momentum and start a push up the rankings.
