We are just about a week from National Signing Day and here are the five must-have Clemson Football Recruiting targets remaining.

Fresh off a National Championship victory, the Clemson Tigers have shifted gears from party and celebration to business as usual mode as National Signing Day approaches. Dabo Swinney is attempting to piece together his best class in recent years and he has some work to do.

The Tigers currently have 16 commitments for the 2017 class with room for a few more and there are some big names left on the board. Heck, some of the top remaining targets are committed to other schools and flipping them might be Swinney’s only option to fill some positional needs.

Winning the national title gives Clemson another selling point on the recruiting trail and if the Tigers can get verbal commitments from guys like Tee Higgins, Hunter Johnson and AJ Terrell even before winning it all, imagine the kind of haul they could have now.

Take a look at the Tigers’ five must-have remaining 2017 National Signing Day targets.

5. Devan Barrett, 4-star RB (Tampa, Fla.)

Clemson is looking to add a running back, or two, in its 2017 class and there may not be many uncommitted prospects left at the position that have caught the attention of the coaching staff, leading them to look into committed players such as Devan Barrett.

Barrett has heard a lot from Clemson in recent months about playing early and filling a major need in this recruiting cycle. He is committed to Auburn, but there’s a chance he could take a visit to Clemson before National Signing Day, although nothing is planned just yet.

One of the reasons he is so intrigued by the recent Clemson interest is because the staff is selling him on playing time and he has friends from the Tampa area that play for the Tigers such as Deon Cain and Ray-Ray McCloud. Having them in his ear is big for Clemson.

Also, Auburn has two running backs committed, outside of Barrett, and that could create a serious battle for playing time where he would be Clemson’s lone commitment at the position.
