Arizona State Sun Devils

Last week: 9-11 (2-5 Pac-12)
Last rank: 8

Arizona State has lost four straight in the conference and while some have been close and some have been blowouts, it’s clear that Bobby Hurley’s reclamation project is going to take just a little bit longer in Tempe. While the depth of strong conference teams has been extended to about six for now, Arizona State’s climb into that category has been anything but easy. Four straight games against potential tournament teams is never easy and that’s life in a power conference. Up next for the Sun Devils is a weekend slate against the two Washington schools. The weekend’s games are very winnable for a win-thirsty Arizona State.

Washington Huskies

Last week: 9-10 (2-5 Pac-12)
Last rank: 10

Having lost three of their last four games, this week is huge for the Washington Huskies. If they want to reach the post season, they will need to add some wins to that lackluster 2-5 conference record. While beating Arizona this weekend would surely do some good, winning against Arizona State will show the nation that the Huskies can go on the road and win games. Washington has yet to win a conference road game away from Seattle. This week could go a long way in deciding Washington’s postseason fate.
