Is NBC’s Law & Order: SVU airing a new episode tonight, Jan. 25? We let you know and tell you what you can expect from season 18, episode 8 when it airs.

The dedicated detectives of the NYPD’s Special Victims Unit are getting some vacation time, as NBC‘s Law & Order: SVU is airing a rerun tonight, Jan. 25 at 9 p.m.

Wednesday’s installment is a rerun of season 18, episode 6, “Rape Interrupted,” which originally aired on Oct. 26. In the episode, ER veteran Anthony Edwards plays a police sergeant who puts the SVU in a tough position when his son is accused of rape. His attempt to influence the investigation does not go over well with Lt. Olivia Benson (Mariska Hargitay).

Next Wednesday will also be a repeat, as NBC re-broadcasts season 18, episode 7 called “Broken Rhymes.” That episode guest stars actor-musical artist Wyclef Jean as the CEO of a record label who comes under fire for the assault of a transgender student, and you can watch a preview of that story by clicking on the featured video at the top of this article.

The next new episode of Law & Order: SVU will air Wednesday, Feb. 8 at 9 p.m. on NBC.

Season 18, episode 8 is the show’s 400th episode and directed by Mariska Hargitay. The special episode is called “Motherly Love” and focuses on a teenager who stops an assault on his mother only to realize that the situation may not have been so simple. With it being both episode 400 and Hargitay’s directorial debut, this is one episode that fans won’t want to miss.

Though SVU is off for the next two weeks, NBC’s rerun schedule means that fans can catch up on the two most recent episodes without having to go anywhere. If you’ve missed either of the last two installments stay tuned in and you’ll be back on the right page in time for the 400th episode!
