Atlanta Hawks point guard Dennis Schroder acted like a 5-year-old when Dwight Howard spoke after the game about the team’s defense.
Sometimes even grown adults can act like children on a basketball court. There’s nothing necessarily wrong with that so long as a line isn’t crossed. Those situations where one friend says something funny while the other tries to compose himself tend to be the funniest moments. In this case, Dennis Schroder was the victim of Dwight Howard being a troll.
After the Atlanta Hawks picked up a huge win on the road against the Chicago Bulls on Wednesday night, Howard was interviewed after the game. With Schroder standing by him to listen to his interview, Howard brought up the team’s defensive effort in the win. He referred to it as “The D” and it doesn’t take a genius to figure out why Schroder started laughing hysterically.
Howard’s first usage of the word was innocent but once he notices Schroder lose it, he follows suit. He then decided to go for it again to mess with his teammate and that’s when Schroder loses it and has to run off the court while dying of laughter.
Next: One crazy trade every team should make
The reporter tries her best to not laugh in an awkward situation and Howard then finishes up the interview while laughing as well. This is one of those classic instances of juvenile behavior at it’s finest and certainly a reminder of how young the Hawks’ point guard is.
More likely than not most people have been in these situations and no one should certainly cast the Hawks out for having a little fun. Howard didn’t take it over the line and immediately cut it off after Schroder ran off. After some struggles to begin the year, the Hawks are rolling and are finding themselves and their defense.
