High Salary PG

Russell Westbrook-Oklahoma City Thunder (12,700): Westbrook went off again last night in the Thunder’s win in New Orleans. He had his third straight triple-double finishing with 27-12-10 (points-rebounds-assists) and 5.4 fantasy points last night and 52.4 fantasy points after 38-10-10 for 69 fantasy points on Monday in Utah and 27-15-13 for 62.5 fantasy points last week against Golden State. He’ll return home tonight to face the Mavericks who are quickly running out of PG with Deron Williams getting hurt last night and J.J. Barea already out. The Mavericks will be short-handed and the possibility of a rout makes Westbrook a little risky especially when he costs this much. He definitely can go off for the 65+ his salary would indicate, but he also can have a  very good game like last night and still fall short of full value.∗∗

Eric Bledsoe-Phoenix Suns (9,700): While Westbrook has by far the biggest name at PG tonight, Bledsoe comes in playing well to a great matchup against the Nuggets. He did stumble a big on Tuesday against the T-Wolves when he only had 18-1-7 for 26.7 fantasy points, but for the four straight games before that he had over 40 fantasy points highlighted by 40-6-13 for 62.7 fantasy points on Sunday against Toronto. Bledsoe faces the Nuggets who have allowed the second-most fantasy points per game to opposing PG this season. Bledsoe faced them twice in November and lit them up the second time for 35-6-6 with two blocks and two steals. He should be a good Westbrook-alternative and could be the better points-per-dollar play.

Ricky Rubio-Minnesota Timberwolves (6,900): Rubio missed one game for personal reasons on Sunday against Denver but he returned for Tuesday’s game in Phoenix where he lit up Bledsoe and the Suns for 14-4-10 and a steal to total 34.8 fantasy points in 34 minutes. Rubio has at least 34 fantasy points in five of his last six games that he wasn’t forced to leave early due to injury, and he is in a great matchup to continue that production tonight against the Pacers
