3. Tedarrell Slaton, 4-star OG/DT (Fort Lauderdale, Fla.)

Florida has been high on Tedarrell Slaton not just because he’s one of the best offensive guards in the 2017 class, but because he has the ability to play both ways. In fact, one of the reasons, reportedly, that the Gators were trending up for Slaton was because he wants to play defense at the next level.

Whether that means he wants to play both ways remains to be seen, but if the Gators can offer him on the defensive side of the ball, that has to be a plus. Florida has had one of the best defenses in the country and it could use some depth in the trenches.

Slaton officially visited campus on Jan. 20 and is expected to take one final trip to Georgia before making a decision before signing day. The Fort Lauderdale-native looks to be down to in-state rivals Florida and Florida State with the Gators holding the slight lead.

The four-star versatile lineman ranks as the No. 69 overall prospect in the country as well as the second-best offensive guard, according to the 247Sports composite. He was named an Army All-American this year and would be a huge addition to the 2017 class.
