Which WWE superstars make the most sense to enter the Royal Rumble at No. 30 on Sunday night?

This Sunday night from the Alamodome in San Antonio, TX, 30 WWE superstars will battle it out for well over an hour in the 30th edition of the Royal Rumble match. As is customary, the winner will earn the right to take part in a world title match at WrestleMania in Orlando this April.

Now when it comes to the Rumble, natural logic would always tell you that you’re sitting pretty if you draw No. 30. You’re the last person to come into the fold after virtually everyone has been out there battling –some longer than others– making you the freshest person in the race to headline WrestleMania. History also backs up No. 30 having an advantage, as there have been three winners from that slot, tied for second-most all time with No. 24. No. 27 sits on top with four winners coming from that position.

But still, No. 30 is a pretty coveted number when it comes to the illustrious Royal Rumble and this Sunday should be no different.

5. James Ellsworth

Okay, is James Ellsworth going to win the Royal Rumble on Sunday, one of the more unpredictable editions of the match that we have seen in quite some time? No. Hell no. Absolutely not.

However, I’m putting him on the backend of this list of potential entrants to draw No. 30 strictly based off comedic purposes alone. I mean, come on, just imagine it. Towards the end of the match you have any combination of the behemoths such as The Undertaker, Braun Strowman, Brock Lesnar, Goldberg, maybe even Samoa Joe and a few other top tier-names. That buzzer for No. 30 sounds and out comes …

… James freakin’ Ellsworth.

The announcers are playing up the whole any man with two hands has a fighting chance shtick and how he actually may have a slight advantage at No. 30. Then he trots to the ring only to get eaten alive instantly by those much larger than he is — which will more than likely be everyone in the ring at that point.

Before we get to the nitty gritty of who will be going to WrestleMania, it’ll be one last non-serious moment in a match that generally is full of them.
