Derrick Rose’s injury woes are back after Kemba Walker crossed him over and the New York Knicks point guard left with an ankle injury.

The latest chapter in the New York Knicks soap opera saw Derrick Rose leave Friday night’s game with an ankle injury. Injuries are no stranger for the former NBA MVP whose career has been derailed by one injury after another. Tonight’s injury doesn’t appear to be as serious as the ones that hampered him at the end of his tenure with the Chicago Bulls, but it was the most embarrassing.

Rose left Friday’s game against the Charlotte Hornets shortly after Hornets guard Kemba Walker made him look silly when he figuratively broke his ankles on a wicked crossover that would make Tim Hardaway proud. But the injury was unrelated to this play

Check out the assault Walker put on Rose’s knees in the video provided by NBA on ESPN below.

I mean, the caption pretty much says it all, right? That was as cold as a Minnesota winter and showed no concern for Rose’s brittle bones.

It’s been a bit of a coming out party for Walker this year who was just named to his first career NBA All-Star Game earlier this week.

Walker entered Friday’s game vs. the Knicks averaging 23 points per game, 4.1 rebounds and 5.5 assists. The Hornets brought a 23-24 record into the game, which keeps them right in the thick of a playoff spot in the weak Eastern Conference.

If Walker has more moments like the one he had vs. Rose on Friday night, he’ll quickly become a household name in NBA circles. Most fans may only know him as the guard from UConn who helped lead his team to a national title before coming to the league. But Walker is coming into his own in the Association and this is further proof of his ascension.
