DraftKings NBA Picks for January 27
We have ten games on our Friday night DraftKings tournaments, which gives us a lot of stars and a lot of value picks. The M*A*S*H* units of Dallas and the Clippers are off though, so the values are less than they may normally be. Who should we build around tonight? Letās see what we have out there!
Donāt forget to follow @fantasycpr on Twitter for lineup updates as we get them leading to the tipoffs of the games! I am not always able to get back in here and fix my picks when someone sits for the night, but we will update it on Twitter.

Most of my picks end up being a little on the conservative side, so these lineups may be better suited for cash games, though I usually play both types.

Point Guards
Best Bets:
Giannis Antetokounmpo ($10,000): Giannis has had at least 40 DraftKings points in every game since January 13th, so he has a solid floor. That said, he has only topped 5x value three times in that span. He has a nice matchup with Toronto tonight. The Raptors have given up 109.25 DraftKings points to him in two games so far. This looks like one of the times he will be above 5x value.
Isaiah Thomas ($9,600): Yes, the Magic are not an easy matchup, but few are playing to the level that Thomas is right now. He has at least 5x value in all but one of his last nine games. He has averaged 52.4 DraftKings points over his last five outings. He may not quite be at that level, but I wouldnāt rule out 5x value either. John Wall has a better matchup, but he hasnāt come close to value this year against the Hawks. Thomas is unknown against Orlando, but I will hedge my bets with the way he is playing right now.
Honorable Mention:
Kyrie Irving ($8,300): Irving has abused the Nets so far this year. He has 95 DraftKings points on them in two games, which comes out to 6x value. His production is still not consistent, but he showed what he is capable of earlier this week. He looks like a safe bet against the Nets.
Mike Conley ($7,400): Conley put up 39 DraftKings points in his first matchup with Portland. The Blazers are notoriously weak on the outside. Even though Conleyās price is up, he should still hit 5x value or better.
Jeff Teague ($7,200): Sacramento has been weak against point guards as well. Teague lit them up in the first meeting for 51.75 DraftKings points on January 18th. Sacramento isnāt suddenly better since then. That game was in Sacramento as well. Can Teague put on a show for the home fans like he did out west?
Dark Horses:
T.J. McConnell ($5,300): McConnell has played at least 28 minutes in five straight games, averaging 28.8 DraftKings points in that span. He is the clear starter over Sergio Rodriguez right now. He put up 14 DraftKings points on Houston earlier this year, but he also played only 20 minutes with the second unit. He has a solid shot at 5x value here.
Darren Collison ($4,800): Collison picked up 35 DraftKings points against the Pacers nine days ago. He has seen his numbers increase across the board with Rudy Gay out, and considering what he did to Cleveland on Wednesday, Collison is a strong candidate to have another big game for his price against the Pacers.
Spencer Dinwiddie ($3,400): It seems that Dinwiddie has staved off Isaiah Whitehead for the time being with Jeremy Lin out. Dinwiddie has picked up 44.75 DraftKings points in 65 minutes over the last two games. The value is there when he starts.
My pick:Ā Collison(PG); Irving(PG), Conley(G)

Shooting Guards
Best Bets:
James Harden ($12,600): Harden put up 58.75 DraftKings points on the Sixers in only 33 minutes earlier this year. Considering how well Philadelphia is playing, Harden should see his normal 38-40 minutes in this one because I expect it to be close this time. Harden has at least 58 DraftKings points in all but two games in January. This should just be another day at the office for him.
C.J. McCollum ($7,100): McCollum has 80.5 DraftKings points in two games against Memphis so far this year. That puts him at 5.8x value. His output has taken a bit of a hit with Damian Lillard back, but the defense of Conley will force more shots McCollumās way.
Honorable Mention:
Dion Waiters ($6,800): Waiters has 135.25 DraftKings points over the last three games with Tyler Johnson out. Johnson is out again tonight, so Waiters should be in for another big night. He was solid in his first game against the Bulls this year, putting up 32 DraftKings points in 35 minutes. He should be right around 5x value once again.
Kent Bazemore ($5,100): Bazemore has been the first to step up with Kyle Korver dealt out of town. Over the last three games, Bazemore has 102.25 DraftKings points and has played 90 minutes. If he plays 30 minutes again, he will have no problems hitting 5x value.
Dark Horses:
Norman Powell ($4,600): Powell has 62.75 DraftKings points in two games with DeMar DeRozan out. DeRozan will be evaluated tomorrow, but considering he didnāt practice yesterday, I would think he wont play. Powell was inserted into the starting lineup and Terrence Ross stayed in his bench role. Powell has put up some big numbers for the price. Even bigger than those of Ross. If DeRozan is out, Powell is the guy you want.
Garrett Temple ($4,200): Temple has picked up four straight games of over 5x value in the absence of Rudy Gay. He doesnāt have the high ceiling that a lot of GPP players covet, but he provides a solid source of points and much needed salary relief for any lineup.
My pick:Ā Waiters(SG), Temple(G), Powell(F); McCollum(SG), Temple(SF), Powell(F)

Small Forwards
Best Bets:
LeBron James ($10,200): James has topped 60 DraftKings points in three of the last four games. Just to make sure that the fans and DFS players havenāt forgotten about him. He has 99.75 DraftKings points in two games against Brooklyn this year, but he has played only 62 minutes in those two games. He carries some risk of a blowout, but if it comes to that, he will beĀ a large part of the reason it does. Whether that translates to 5x value or not is anyoneās guess.
Kawhi Leonard ($9,000): Since his official injury diagnosis is āsore left handā, it would stand to reason that missing games on Monday and Tuesday and having the last two days off would be enough for him to be available tonight. However, stay tuned to our Twitter feed to make sure of his status. If he plays, I like him tonight against the Pelicans. Leonard has hit 50 DraftKings points in five of the last six games.
Honorable Mention:
Carmelo Anthony ($7,200): Anthony is still worth using in the right matchup. Charlotte certainly qualifies. Melo has 99 DraftKings points in just two games against the Hornets this year. Anthony is trending upward right now anyway, having topped 5x value in seven of his last nine games. He will make it eight of ten tonight.
Jae Crowder ($5,900):Ā Crowder has seen an uptick in production with Avery Bradley out. Bradley has already been ruled out for tonight, which means Crowder will see some more shots tonight. He put up 34 DraftKings points in the first meeting with Orlando. Crowder is a lock for 5x value tonight.
Dark Horses:
Wayne Ellington ($4,300):Ā Ellington is still coming off the bench, but he is seeing big minutes with Johnson and Justise Winslow still out. He has played at least 33 minutes in each of the last three games with Johnson out, and he has averaged 29.1 DraftKings points per game in that span. Look for another solid night from Ellington.
Jeff Green ($4,000):Ā Keep an eye on the availability of Evan Fournier before using Green. He picked up 24.25 DraftKings points starting for Fournier on Wednesday. If Fournier sits again, Green will have himself another solid night.
Caris Levert ($4,000):Ā The rookie has played his way into Brooklynās rotation since the calendar flipped to 2017. He has averaged 26 DraftKings points per game over the last four outings, and he picked up 57.25 DraftKings points in 50 minutes against Cleveland this year. He should at least come close to 6x value tonight.
My Pick:Ā Crowder(SF); N/A

Power Forwards
Best Bets:
DeMarcus Cousins ($11,000):Ā Cousins had his way with the Pacers interior last week, racking up 63.5 DraftKings points on them in Sacramento. Cousins has been over 5x value in six of the last eight games. He looks likely to do it again tonight.
LaMarcus Aldridge ($7,600):Ā Aldridge has picked up his production with frontcourt mate Pau Gasol sidelined. He has played more minutes and scored more as well. He has 121.5 DraftKings points over the last three games with Gasol out. On paper, the Pelicans arenāt a great matchup, but if he slides down to center again, his projections increase exponentially.
Honorable Mention:
Paul Millsap ($7,400):Ā Many who played Millsap were cursing him until the fourth quarter, when he turned a horrid night into one that still kept you in contention. He has 83 DraftKings points in two games against the Wizards this season. That would put him comfortably above 5x value.
Markieff Morris ($6,800):Ā Morris has 75.25 DraftKings points in two games against Atlanta this season. Recently, he has picked up his numbers against other teams to this high level. Morris has averaged 40 DraftKings points per game over his last six games. He has carved out a larger role in the offense, and the Wizards seem to be better because of it. The team has won five of those six games.
Dark Horses:
David Lee ($5,900):Ā Lee continues to start with Pau Gasol out, but Davis Bertans has stolen a few more minutes from him lately. Leeās price makes him a lot more of a risk right now since he needs 29.5 DraftKings points to hit 5x value. He has not hit that mark in the last two games with Bertans and Dewayne Dedmon both playing double digit minutes.
Trevor Booker ($4,600):Ā Bookerās production has taken a bit of a hit with the emergence of Justin Hamilton, but he put up 34 DraftKings points on the Cavs in their first meeting. I will admit that the chances of that happening again are slim, but it does give us hope that he can hit 5x value at a low price.
Okaro White ($3,500):Ā After tearing up the D-League and cracking the rotation, White earned 27 minutes and 30.75 DraftKings points against Brooklyn on Wednesday. These werenāt garbage minutes either. White played a lot of minutes in a three point game. Does this mean he has cracked the rotation for good? It will likely have more to do with the status of Hassan Whiteside. If Whiteside sits, White is criminally underpriced.
My pick:Ā Cousins(PF); Morris(PF)

Center
Best Bets:
Joel Embiid ($8,400):Ā Embiid was still on a 22 minute restriction in the first meeting with Houston earlier this year. He still picked up 31.5 DraftKings points in that matchup. Embiid has been over 40 DraftKings points in all but one game since his minutes increased to 28. He has also topped 5x value in six straight games. There is no reason not to use him. I trust him a lot more than Anthony Davis, who was forced to leave Wednesdayās game early. His quad is still bothering him, so there is a big risk involved with playing Brow instead.

Al Horford ($7,000):Ā Not sure about Davisās quad or Embiidās knee? Look no further than the most consistent center in the league over the last month. We have to go back over a month to find the last time Horford didnāt top 30 DraftKings points. He provides a high floor and consistent production, making him a great building block for any lineup.
Honorable Mention:
Dwight Howard ($6,700):Ā Howard has had a pretty good, albeit inconsistent, season in Atlanta. Howard has averaged 39 DraftKings points per game over the last three, and 42.9 in two games against Washington this year. Whether you believe the consistency is fleeting or not, I doubt it stops tonight.
Nerlens Noel ($5,800):Ā Noel put up two outstanding games with Embiid and Jahlil Okafor out this week. Embiidās return will take a large chunk out of Noelās court time, but donāt be surprised if he stellar performances earned him more of a run tonight. He may still be up around 5x value. If for some reason Embiid sits, then Noel is elevated to a must-play.
Dark Horses:
Tristan Thompson ($4,600):Ā Thompson has 69 DraftKings points in two games against Brooklyn so far this year. He has abused Brook Lopez up front on both ends of the court in those games. While Thompson will never be a big part of the Cleveland offense, his defense makes him worth playing.
Robin Lopez ($4,200):Ā RoLo has 52.75 DraftKings points in two games against the Heat this year, and that was with Whiteside in there. He has the potential for a little more upside if Whiteside is out again. Even if he plays, I like Lopez as a punt play at UTIL.
My pick:Ā Embiid(C); Horford(C), Thompson(UTIL)
