New York Knicks second-year sensation Kristaps Porzingis defied gravity on a pair of slam dunks on Friday you have to see to believe.
We interrupt this Carmelo Anthony trade rumor to bring you some actual real-life basketball from the New York Knicks. While this week has been dominated by Anthony rumors, don’t let that distract you from the fact they have the unicorn Kristaps Porzingis doing some remarkable things.
The second-year Latvian sensation put on a clinic on Friday night when he showed off his hops on a pair of thunderous dunks against the Charlotte Hornets.
What was just as impressive as the two dunks you’re about to see was that they both took place within a minute. The first dunk came when he was rewarded for running the floor in transition. It wasn’t a dunk we haven’t seen before, but because it was Porzingod, it was an Earth-shattering dunk and we need to celebrate it.
However, I lost all control of my emotions when I saw the second dunk. Porzingis corralled a loose ball after a miss and shook the defender behind the three-point line at the top of the key and he was ready for liftoff.

I didn’t oversell the Porzingis dunks in the least either and if you disagree, you need to go to the Church of Porzingis and get on the bandwagon.

It’s been a difficult few years to be a Knicks fan, but with a player like Porzingis who actually wants to play for the Knicks, it’s easy to root for him and get excited when he does special things. I laughed when I saw Anthony on the bench reacting to the second dunk because I don’t think the two are going to be teammates very much longer.
