The shield is investigating the Pittsburgh Steelers for their potential lack of disclosure regarding Bell’s health.

The public eye had already recently been focused on the Pittsburgh Steelers following Antonio Brown’s Facebook Live post, and it seems the organization is back in the news again today. Reports have surfaced that the NFL will be looking into if the Steelers withheld information regarding Le’Veon Bell’s groin injury.

Speculation began when Pittsburgh head coach Mike Tomlin admitted that Bell had been fighting with his groin now for weeks. As a result, #26 missed practices, but his absences were listed as non-injury related.

Which if you put 2+2 together, it would mean the Steelers lied.

For the AFC Championship game last weekend, the NFL would like to know if Bell was properly listed. The tailback only practiced on the Friday prior to Sunday’s game.

According to the Pittsburgh Post Gazette, Coach Tomlin had some words to explain that everyone is banged up at this point of the year:

"“Just about everybody in that locker room has things they’re managing in an effort to stay on the field. It didn’t cause him to miss any practice reps, so I didn’t list it.”"

Whether this is the truth remains to be seen. Regardless of what the NFL finds, Pittsburgh can breathe. This hardly has a Deflategate sentence written over it. However, a similar situation occurred recently with Richard Sherman and the NFL was discussing confiscating a second round pick from Seattle.

It certainly was an uphill climb for the Steelers last week without Bell. After managing 18 yards on five carries, the former Michigan State back would never return to action. His status remained up in the air, but the CBS broadcast continuously showed Bell sporting his sideline overcoat. One can wonder if a healthy Bell would have made the difference last Sunday.
