Nintendo didn’t reveal the specs for the Switch at the live presentation. But, they’re up on the website now.

Straight from the Nintendo UK website, the specifications for the Nintendo Switch are now available to read. We see almost every little detail about the upcoming console, which is great.

First of all, let’s start the Nintendo Switch console, which is the screen. Other than the obvious, such as the power buttons and volume buttons, there are some specs that we want to talk about more extensively.

We definitely want to learn more about how the 6.2 inch capacitive touch screen will work. Much like the Wii U’s gamepad, will games that are releasing for the Switch utilize the touch screen mechanic to a certain extent, or will it be optional?

Other interesting details include the audio jack and the brightness sensor. Speaking more on the audio jack, it does state that we’ll be able to use headsets. This is confusing though since Nintendo has stated that they will be releasing a companion app for voice chat.

Will that just be for partying-up purposes and the voice chat will be from the console itself? They should be revealing more details about the companion app/online service very soon anyways.

Next is the dock, which is extremely simple. Simplicity isn’t a bad thing though and Nintendo wants to make sure that the focus is solely on the screen.

In the front, there’s USB ports on the side, a TV output LED, and a system connecter. In the back, It includes an AC adapter port, USB port, HDMI port, and a back cover.

Finally, the Joy-Con controllers. It explains certain details, such as how the HOME button lights up when you get notifications. The sticks can be pressed down and used as a button, but that’s nothing new.

We also see more about the straps and the Joy-Con grip. The straps are very similar to those that were used for the Wii Remotes. But, they do have buttons, which is interesting.
