Welcome back to the FanDuel NBA Top 5 Plays for January 28th!

Wow what a night James Harden had!  The 76ers were able to keep it close like I hoped they would which helped Harden light up the stat sheet with 51 points, 13 assists, 13 rebounds 2 steals 1 block to go along with 5 turnovers for 87.1 FanDuel Points.  If you spent up for him at $12K he didn’t disappoint.  He was the highlight of my night and I had quite a bit of exposure to him in GPP’s.

A few other things that went right were LeBron James scoring 48.5 FDP as the anchor of my cash game lineup that easily finished above the payline.  My must play of the day, Kevin Love, was a little disappointing at 34.8, but he didn’t exactly murder your lineups if you had him.  I did well with him and Harden in a lineup with Jeff Teague and Dragic helping it put up 320+ points.

Also, if you faded John Wall, you weren’t disappointed with his 35.7 FDP performance.  The one truly disappointing spot of the night was Garrett Temple only scoring 6.5 FDP.  I advised not having too much exposure to him and luckily I took my own advice and only had him in 2 lineups.  Overall I had a good night cashing in all of my cash games and most of my GPP’s.

As we take a look at the slate for tonight we have a lot of games slated to be high scoring.  We have a pretty good list of players worth paying up for, with much much better value options than I felt we had yesterday, mainly in the Clippers back court.  I’m going to stick to my 70% cash game and 30% GPP with the bankroll amount that I’m playing today.  Also like yesterday I’m going to give you who I’m willing to pay up for and who I’m fading in GPP’s, my cash game lock, my value play, and I found a good name for my top overall, The PayMaker.  I kinda like it, and Love did find his way into some cash for me yesterday, so that fits lol.  Let’s take a look at my Top 5 today.

FanDuel – Top GPP Target and Player to Fade

Giannis Antetokounmpo $10,500

I love this spot for him.  Boston has been horrible against both PG and SG the past few games with Bradley out.  He’s in a game with a 218.5 total and a pk spread.  I’ll take it every time.  We know his floor is 45+ with a ceiling of 60+.  Much like yesterday, when I think a guy will have 60 points I’ll have him in a lineup or two despite what I feel his ownership % will be.  You can’t go wrong with Towns, Durant, and Cousins, but for the price, I’ll have more than my fair share of The Alphabet in my GPP lineups.

Karl-Anthony Towns $10,700

I know going up against Brooklyn is a  great match-up, but I think today he won’t reach the 50 point mark.  Brooklyn has been playing better against power forwards and centers this past week and I think that will also help the ownership % to get too high for my liking.  If I’m paying up at Center, I may as well go all the way up to Cousins at $10,900, who also happens to have a higher ceiling and is in a match-up expected to be closer.  Now that we know who to spend up on and who to fade, let’s take a look at my cash game lock and my GPP value play.

FanDuel – Cash Game Lock and GPP Value Play

Kevin Durant $10,400

Durant is my cash game lock for today.  The Clippers have struggled against the SF position as of late and Durant usually has an upside game against the Clippers.  I think that continues here today despite the chance of a blowout.

More from FanSided

I think no matter what in this game Durant finds a way to score close to 50 FDP with an upside of 55.  Put Durant in your cash lineup first and build around him, there is plenty of different lineup variations to make the cash lines with Durant as your main guy.

Jusuf Nurkic $4,000

Please keep in mind the value plays that I list are plays you should not have on every team.  This is meant to be a salary saver for one or two of your lineups.  I would not make too many lineups with this play in them because they are kinda risky.  I’m willing to roster Nurkic in a lineup or two if Jokic is out.

The Suns are bottom 3rd in the league in points allowed to the center position.  With this being the highest total on the slate and the best player for the Nuggets may be out, I like this play today to be a cheap punt at the center position that could easily pay off.  Now let’s take a look at today’s PayMaker.

FanDuel – Top PlayMaker!

Jabari Parker $7,900

I really like this game today if you can’t tell.  I think if you start with both Giannis and Parker in your lineup you are off to a great start.  Parker is going up against a Celtic team that has been absolutely horrible on the glass and they give up a ton of put backs.  Parker has a ceiling into the 50’s and at this price I’m willing to roster him with the expectation of reaching that 50 spot!  Pair him and Giannis up in GPP’s, throw in some of those cheap value guards for the Clippers in a paced up game against Golden State and you have a solid foundation for a nice GPP lineup today.
