Senegal face Cameroon in the African Cup of Nations on Saturday, Jan. 28. Here’s all the info you need to watch.
It was a wacky and wild African Cup of Nations group stage round. Now there are only eight teams left in AFCON as the top two teams and each group have moved on to the knockout stage. Senegal take on Cameroon in the second knockout round match on Saturday, Jan. 28 in Franceville, Gabon.
Cameroon finished tied with Burkina Faso for first in Group A with five points. However, they finished in second place since their goal differential was one goal worse than Burkina Faso. As a result, they will take on the Group B winners on Saturday.
Senegal, who won Group B, earned seven points overall after winning their first two group stage matches. The third result was a tie against Algeria in a game that meant very little to Senegal’s AFCON journey but more to Algeria’s slim chances of advancing to the knockout out round.

The knockout stage is do or die. There are no second chances given as the winner goes on and the loser heads home. Each team needs to limit their mistakes in order to have a good chance of winning. This match should be a nail bitter throughout as each team attempts to advance to the semifinals.
