PorzinGOD did not care that Dwight Howard awaited him at the rim.

Kristaps Porzingis has made a habit of highlight plays since entering the NBA, and what he just did can be added to his already impressive display. The second-year power forward had a running start at the rim when he ferociously dunked on Dwight Howard of the Atlanta Hawks this afternoon. Howard was overly aggressive as Porzingis approached the tin, taking a shot at the Latvian’s head. Too bad nothing was stopping from Howard from being featured on Porzingis’ latest poster:

It’s pretty clear that Howard takes a dirty shot at the Knicks big man here. The NBA seemed to agree as they dished out a Flagrant 1 to the Atlanta center. If you’re going to come at somebody’s head like that, at least stop the ball from getting in the hoop. Instead, Howard is now the laughing stock of Twitter for the next several hours. This should give the former All-Star center something new to cry about. A former three-time Defensive Player of the Year, Howard is hardly the force he once was on that end of the floor. With that being said, he still remains a formidable force on offense, averaging a double-double yet again.

For New York, it is quite clear where the future of their organization lies. Porzingis is the clear piece to build around going ahead, and the first step might be to part ways with Carmelo Anthony.

Rumors have surfaced that this could happen sooner than later, as suitors like Boston, Los Angeles (Clippers), and Cleveland have been mentioned. For now, averaging almost 19 points and around seven rebounds this year, Porzingis is continuing to develop as a prominent force at the 4. If there is any doubt, just ask Dwight Howard. Rest in peace.
