Twitter exploded after John Cena won his 16th world championship to tie the legendary Ric Flair at the 2017 WWE Royal Rumble.
History officially took place at the 2017 WWE Royal Rumble on Sunday night. John Cena defeated A.J. Styles in an incredible match to win his 16th world championship. The win of course ties Cena with the legendary Ric Flair.
The match itself was nothing short of amazing. Both Cena and Styles pushed themselves to incredible lengths. After delivering a stunning attitude adjustment, Cena didn’t take any half measures and delivered one more to Styles to clinch the WWE World Heavyweight Championship.
After Cena won the title and made history, Twitter exploded over his win. Fans of Cena absolutely loved the match while his detractors weren’t as thrilled. What can’t be taken away is that it is a crowning achievement and something will be remembered forever by wrestling fans.

There isn’t a wrestler that brings out more emotion than Cena. His win is certainly going to bring about mixed emotions but it can’t be denied that he is well on his way to WrestleMania. Before he can get there, he will have to defend his title in the Elimination Chamber match.

He will have to face five other of the best superstars on the SmackDown roster inside the demonic structure. Fans will always be on one side of the coin or the other on Cena and that’s part of his appeal as a legend.
He’s now tied Flair and with one more championship in his career will give him the record. That might not be for a while, but for now we can enjoy watching one of the greats make history in the ring.
