The antics of Antonio Brown are apparently wearing thin on those in Pittsburgh, which means we get to speculate about his future.
One of the best receivers in the NFL could be on the move in the near future. Antonio Brown, who is the top ranked receiver in football, has been the subject of some controversy lately, from something as harmless as wearing unauthorized cleats to more egregious things like Facebook Live streaming private locker room conversations.
All of this is leading to speculation that he could be on the move if he doesn’t shape up. The word speculation can not be emphasized more; Brown is not going anywhere.
That hasn’t stopped a report that the Steelers are getting sick of hearing about ht sir All-Pro reciever outside the context of X’s and O’s. According to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, some in the Steelers organization are growing tired of Brown’s “antics”, which cues up all sorts of speculation.
"Brown’s antics are wearing thin on some of his teammates and certainly his coaches. He has one year left on his contract and they promised him this would be the year they negotiate an extension for him. What will he want and what will they be willing to pay? Brown has them over one large barrel."
This is a non-story, but somehow a huge story.
It’s huge in that the idea that Brown could be playing for someone else in 2018 is appetizing to 31 fan bases in the NFL and terrifying to one. That’s what makes it a story, because this is an open invitation to speculate about his future — something the Steelers probably want. It sends a message to Brown that while he’s ultra talented, he needs to check himself.
Then again, it’s a total non-story in that Brown is going absolutely nowhere. Sure, the Steelers have parted ways with top receivers like Mike Wallace and Hines Ward and come out of it alright. They have Eli Rogers and Sammie Coats — who each at certain points in the season looked really good — but neither of them are anywhere close to being worthy of replacing Brown.

At the end of the day, this is really nothing more than posturing by the Steelers. It’s very possible that this turns into something if Brown regresses and both Rogers and Coates take the next step in 2017. But for now, it’s nothing Steelers fans need to worry themselves too much about.
