Sunderland welcome Tottenham to the Stadium of Light on Tuesday, Jan. 31. Here’s all the info you need to watch.
Tottenham travel to Sunderland nine points adrift of league leaders Chelsea and face a must-win match if they are to challenge for the Premier League title.
Spurs salvaged a point away to Manchester City in their last Premier League clash after trailing 2-0 on the back of two Hugo Lloris errors. All things considered, it was an excellent draw for the North Londoners, who are undefeated in seven top-flight clashes. The draw against City was the team’s first dropped points since losing 1-0 to Manchester United on Dec. 11.
The good news gets better for Spurs, as Harry Kane, Toby Alderweireld and Danny Rose have all recovered from knocks and should feature on Tuesday.
Sunderland have once again hit rock bottom, David Moyes’ side losing four of five. The Black Cats single point during the current woeful streak came in a 2-2 draw at home with Liverpool on Jan. 2. Sunderland are cemented to the foot of the table, one point adrift Hull and Crystal Palace.
Lamine Kone and Didier Ndong are both back from the Africa Cup of Nations and Lynden Gooch may feature after recovering from injury.
Papy Djilobodji is suspended and so January signing, and former Moyes’ player, Joleon Lescott could make his debut for the Black Cats.

Sunderland haven’t defeated Spurs in 13 Premier League matches, 10 of which ended in Black Cats defeat. Kane has never scored a goal at the Stadium Light so look for him to end that barren streak, while Spurs should continue their unbeaten run against the league’s worst side.
