Kirby Smart saw high expectations for his first year as the head coach of the Georgia Bulldogs. Due to a litany of injuries and a disappointing offensive line, those expectations were never realized. However, Smart has all of the recruiting tools in the world and has put them to use. Now the Bulldogs sat behind only two other programs leading up to National Signing Day and that’s the way it stayed. Here’s a look at the Georgia commits:

Remember the talk we had about Georgia’s offensive line being troublesome in the 2016 season? Adding a stud prospect—and a beast of a human being—such as Isaiah Wilson will go a long way in helping to solve that. 6-7, 350 pounds at offensive tackle is enough to warrant five stars alone as a recruit, but Wilson is also incredibly powerful and shockingly skilled at the position given how he could likely skate by on his size alone in high school.

What’s more, the Bulldogs also are able to give Jacob Eason more weapons to work with as he enters his sophomore campaign in addition to protecting him further. There were flashes that Georgia showed in their first season under smart, but I think this recruiting class is a good sign that we’ll see more of a sustained run from this team as soon as the 2017 season, but certainly shortly down the line.
