Is Chicago PD airing a new episode tonight, Feb. 1? We let you know and tell you what to expect from the NBC drama next.
Fans of NBC‘s Chicago PD may experience a sense of deja vu this week, as the series is not new on Feb. 1 — it’s airing a repeat of this season’s winter finale.
After broadcasting the first half of the winter two-parter last week the network is following that up with the conclusion this Wednesday. Season 4, episode 8 is called “A Shot Heard Round the World” and sees the Chicago Police Department under attack.
It’s up to Hank Voight (Jason Beghe) and his team to find the sniper before the body count rises too high, but one officer refuses to go out into the line of fire and instead turns in their badge.
This is also Jon Seda’s last episode as a regular on Chicago PD, as his character Antonio Dawson was shifted over to become a main cast member on the upcoming Chicago Justice. That series has its preview on March 1, but tonight’s PD serves as Antonio’s Intelligence Unit swan song.
Here’s how NBC officially describes the episode:
"When a young officer is shot dead in the lobby of an apartment building, Intelligence looks to the latest known offenders who have threatened the police. But when a second officer is killed, the team finds that they are dealing with someone who is highly trained and knowledgeable. Voight works to keep the case contained as they deal with Chicago’s ever-present war against the police. Meanwhile, Lindsay confronts Antonio about his new job with the State’s Attorney."
The next new episode of Chicago PD airs Wednesday, Feb. 8 at 10 p.m. on NBC.
