Texas A&M has quite the name with them for National Signing Day in Johnny Manziel
It’s National Signing Day here in February of 2017, meaning you’ll never know what you’re gonna see. Schools tend to pull out all the stops to try and get the best players in the country to come play for them, and that includes having some former players present.
Really, though, when it comes down to it, there might not be a bigger name on a campus Wednesday than Kevin Sumlin and the Texas A&M Aggies have.
Of course, if you couldn’t figure it out already for one reason or another, that indeed means that none other than 2012 Aggies Heisman winner Johnny Manziel is on campus ready to help his former program in any way they need.
Manziel is here in the news again, but thankfully, it’s for a good reason. As Johnny Football tries to get his life and career on track, being around his former school and coaches for an event such as today might be one of the best things for him. It’s certainly better than being caught by TMZ cameras outside an establishment in Los Angeles.
His issues aside, though, it always helps to have a former Heisman winner around your campus during such an important event as National Signing Day. It reminds the incoming recruits and those that have not made their decisions yet that you have what it takes to develop them into successful college football players.
If a career in the NFL is truly dead for Manziel, could we possibly be looking at Johnny Manziel, Texas A&M assistant coach? Hmm…
