The Stanford Cardinal have the No. 11 recruiting class of the 2017 cycle. Here is a look at all the recruits that will suit up for David Shaw in Palo Alto.

Despite being an academic powerhouse at Stanford University, the Stanford Cardinal football team absolutely crushed it this recruiting cycle. According to 247Sports, the Cardinal have the No. 11 class of 2017 heading into Wednesday’s National Signing Day.

Head coach David Shaw may have only landed a handful of recruits, but having three five-stars on the offensive side of the ball is simply outstanding for his football team. Here is a look at the players that will play for Coach Shaw at Stanford beginning in 2017.

Stanford dominated in recruitment on the offensive side of the ball. Shaw is an excellent offensive-minded coach and there was no doubt that he could get the players he needs on that side of the ball in his pro-style offense.

Highlighting the Cardinal’s 2017 recruiting class are a trio of five-star players: offensive tackle Foster Sarell (Graham, WA), offensive tackle Walker Little (Bellaire, TX), and pro-style quarterback Davis Mills (Norcross, GA).

While early playing time could be difficult for some Power 5 schools, that’s not the case with Stanford. Given the academic rigor of the school, Stanford never has an overwhelming number of players on its football team at any given time.

Foster and Little should have an easier time getting early playing time in 2017 as offensive linemen than Mills. However, Mills could be asked to step up early for the Cardinal at some point in his true freshman season. Keep in mind that starting quarterback Keller Chryst tore his ACL in the Sun Bowl.

Stanford should still contend in the Pac-12 this season for a conference championship. However, teams like USC, Utah, and Washington look very formidable. Outside of blue-blood USC, the Cardinal could not have done better at recruitment in the Pac-12 in 2017.
