A look at the USC Trojans recruiting class as National Signing Day 2017 is here.
USC is coming off a season where they climbed back into the national spotlight by making it to the Rose Bowl against Penn State. They would win in an offense-filled classic and put quarterback Sam Darnold on the map as potentially the next great Trojans signal caller.
Despite USC having down seasons before this, they have still been able to bring in quality recruiting classes. So far, Clay Helton has been able to do this for 2017. He has running back Stephen Carr leading the way. He’s a five-star player out of Fontana, CA and committed back in March 2015. This could be a quality addition to the backfield to improve USC’s running game and become an even bigger threat in scoring points going forward.
Four-star defensive tackle Marlon Tuipulotu could prove to be an asset on the defensive line. He could step in as a starter immediately, especially after enrolling early.
Safety Bubba Bolden is another player that will add to the defense. With cornerback Adoree Jackson’ going to the NFL, Bolden could step in to bring some depth to the secondary for 2017. This is along with fellow four-star safety, Isaiah Pola-Mao.
To continue filling out the defense, USC has defensive end, Hunter Echols, inside linebacker Juliano Falaniko, and defensive tackle Brandon Pili committed for 2017. They also have quarterback Jack Sears coming in, who could red-shirt or provide a backup option to Darnold in 2017.

Next: National Signing Day: Predicting Commitments
USC’s 2017 recruiting class should continue to climb into the top 10, if they can receive a few more commitments on February 1. They could continue filling out their offensive side of the ball to play off their success in 2016 or look to add more pieces to the defense to push them forward this fall.
