In an interview with IGN, Shigeru Miyamoto and Eiji Aonuma talk about Breath of the Wild. We learn about characters and even some secrets.

With every day that goes by, we’re that much closer to the release of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. It’s been a long road and a grueling wait, but it’s almost here. In a new interview with IGN, we learn some new details from Shigeru Miyamoto and Eiji Aonuma about the game.

Without spoiling anything, of course, both explain certain aspects of the game’s beautiful world and what we’ll find in it. In most Zelda games, there’s always something to find and a world to explore. But, it’s safe to say that this is the biggest game in the series yet and there will be so much to discover.

For example, we’ll meet a variety of characters, some mysterious. They also touch on the animal design and all the things that have led to Link’s brand-new journey. There’s nothing like learning from those who actually had a huge role in Breath of the Wild’s development.

Check out the interview below:

The main goal for them with this game was to deliver a whole new Zelda experience for gamers. Obviously, it stays true to what the series has done for all of these years. But, there are definitely new elements that will surely improve the game as a whole.

For example, in most Zelda games, you start off kind of slow and you immediately learn what the story is all about. In this game, they wanted the player to jump right into the action and slowly learn about the plot as you progress through the game.

Link is still tasked with saving the world, but so is Zelda. However, being a princess, her goals may seem a bit different.

The characters we see in the trailers also play an important role in Link’s journey. Each will play a companion role in one way or another and aid him along the way.
