LaDainian Tomlinson, Terrell Davis, Kurt Warner and Jason Taylor headline 2017 Hall of Fame class
It’s hard to believe, but LaDainian Tomlinson has been out of football for five years. But it’s not hard to believe that he made the Hall of Fame on his first try. Tomlinson, along with Kurt Warner, Terrell Davis, Jason Taylor and Morten Anderson headline the 2017 NFL Pro Football Hall of Fame class. Kenny Easley and Jerry Jones will also be inducted.

Tomlinson enjoyed an illustrious NFL career, tallying over 18,000 total yards and 167 total touchdowns. Terrell Davis’ career was cut short due to injury, but in an impressive four-year run from 1995-98, he had a stretch many would dream of. Davis rushed for for 6,413 yards (4.8 yards per carry) and 56 touchdowns. Davis also won two Super Bowls, a Super Bowl MVP and an NFL MVP.
Jason Taylor, who played for the Miami Dolphins, New York Jets and Washington Redskins, tallied 139.5 sacks in 15 seasons. Kurt Warner was one of the most prolific NFL quarterbacks of his time. Warner nabbed two NFL MVP’s, with a Super Bowl win and MVP in his career.
Morten Anderson, according to NFL.com writer Gregg Rosenthal, was the biggest surprise on the list.
"The inclusion of Andersen is the biggest surprise in this class. The kicker finished his career as the all-time leading scorer of the New Orleans Saints and the Atlanta Falcons, an almost impossible accomplishment. He also was named to the NFL All-Decade Teams in both the 1980s and 1990s. He finished his career as the NFL all-time leader in points, field goals, games played and field goals over 50 yards."
One notable name left off the list again was Terrell Owens. Owens, a prolific NFL player in his own right, perhaps have scared off voters with his on/off field behavior.
Nevertheless, big hats off to those who made it to Canton, Ohio this year.
