Here’s how to watch Saturday’s Big East clash between two top-3 conference teams.
This weekend’s great Big East matchup sees the Xavier Musketeers traveling to Omaha to take on the Creighton Bluejays. Creighton won the first game 72-67, in Cincinnati.
A lot of the sizzle has been taken out of this matchup, with ACL injuries striking each team’s star point guard. Creighton’s Mo Watson Jr. suffered his injury in the first Creighton matchup, while Xavier’s Edmond Sumner went down a week later against St. John’s.
There’s still plenty of talent left on both teams, though. Khyri Thomas has emerged as the lead guard for Creighton in the wake of Watson’s injury. He’s scored 15 and 18 in his last two games — both Creighton victories — and seems to be finding his stride as a primary playmaker. Marcus Foster still has the ability to pour in points, and Justin Patton seems to make huge strides every game he plays. Coach Greg McDermott is recalibrating his team around the personnel he still has, and the Tuesday’s win over Butler shows the team remains dangerous.

Xavier’s had less time to adjust, but they scored a win against Seton Hall on Wednesday. With Sumner’s injury and the departure of Myles Davis, Trevon Bluiett has emerged as the team’s lone go-to guy. He played all but 4 minutes on Wednesday and scored 24 points on just 17 shooting possessions. If the Musketeers continue to get solid performances from players like Kaiser Gates and Sean O’Mara, they’ll challenge to win this game.
Don’t miss out on this clash between two of the top three Big East teams this Saturday.
