Super Bowl LI got off to a hot start when part of the Hamilton cast remixed the words to ‘America The Beautiful’.

The current political climate has led many to believe that the Super Bowl will become a vessel for agenda. So far, politics hasn’t totally worked its way into the game but that doesn’t mean we’ve been free of expression — which is far from a bad thing.

Phillipa Soo, Tony winner Renée Elise Goldsberry and Jasmine Cephas Jones, of the original Broadway production of the smash-hit musical Hamilton, reunited at the Super Bowl to sing ‘America the Beautiful’ — with one new addition.

The singers remixed the verse that talks about brotherhood, by tacking on ‘sisterhood’ to the end as well. It was unexpected but it was awesome.

The trio altered the lines “and crown thy good with brotherhood,” to add the word “sisterhood.” Their iconic roles in Hamilton are of three sisters, who’s familial bond is essential to the plot. Live reactions to the change were positive, most notably Atlanta Falcons coach Dan Quinn.

Both “America the Beautiful” and “#andsisterhood” immediately began trending on Twitter. Other performers included Luke Bryan singing the National Anthem and soon Lady Gaga, doing the half time performance.
