New England Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman caught one of the craziest passes in Super Bowl history to give his team a chance late.

The Super Bowl is apparently home to ridiculous catches late in the game. Julian Edelman may have topped all of them for the New England Patriots against the Atlanta Falcons in Super Bowl 51.

As the Patriots were trying to make the comeback late in the game, Brady threw a pass up deep to Edelman. The pass would bounce off multiple Falcons defensive backs and appeared to be heading for the ground. Instead, Edelman managed to snag it off of Ricardo Allen’s arm before it hit the ground.

Everyone was in disbelief as the ref ruled it a catch. It would immediately go to review and the call on the field would be confirmed. Somehow Edelman manged to make the biggest catch of the game when his team needed him to come up with the play.

With the ball bouncing in the air, it looked as if the Falcons were going to come down with the interception. Nonetheless, the smallest guy of the bunch came down with it and made the catch of his career.

After dropping some easy passes earlier in the game, Edelman absolutely redeemed himself on the final drive. The Patriots would score the touchdown and get the two-point conversion to tie the game.
