Julian Edelman’s wild catch in Super Bowl 51 has fans going crazy
Julian Edelman’s highlight reel catch in Super Bowl 51 had fans going wild on Twitter.
Julian Edelman had mostly stayed quiet during Super Bowl 51. He dropped a few passes and hadn’t been much of a factor in the offensive attack. However, that would all change on a critical fourth quarter drive by the New England Patriots.
Tom Brady would drop back to pass and seemingly be cut off by Atlanta Falcons defensive back Robert Alford. He couldn’t come up with the ball, though, as it bounced off his hands. It went down toward a pile of Falcons players and Edelman, who managed to keep the ball from hitting the ground and somewhat reeled it in with both hands. The ruling on the field would be a successful catch.
Afterward, those watching Super Bowl 51 on Twitter went ballistic over what had just happened:

To make things even wilder, the Patriots would score a touchdown. They then had to tie with a two-point conversion, and successfully did so to make it 28-28. It completed an epic comeback of New England’s, one of the best in Super bowl history.

It all started with Julian Edelman’s catch, which is one of the best ones you’ll ever see in the biggest football game of the year. This will be talked about like David Tyree’s catch nine years ago, if the Patriots win. There’s still time to go, especially with the chances of this going to overtime. It should make for an intriguing finish.
