The official inactives for Super Bowl 51 between the Atlanta Falcons and New England Patriots are out and it includes one notable player.

Kickoff for Super Bowl 51 between the Atlanta Falcons and New England Patriots is drawing near. As is custom before every game, the weekly inactives list has come out for the game. It’s always tough for a player to be made inactive before the Super Bowl, but each team has to designate the players that won’t play before the game.

The Falcons’ inactive list looks like it has for most of the playoffs. Terron Ward and Dashon Goldson won’t be inactive for the game. With a Super Bowl where both teams are fairly healthy, the key players will be suited up for both sides. However, the Patriots have made one notable player inactive.

After picking up Michael Floyd on waivers from the Arizona Cardinals, New England thought they were getting a weapon that would help them in their Super Bowl run. Instead, he’s struggled to pick up the offense for the team and now he won’t be active on Sunday. He was made inactive for the AFC Championship game so this should come as no surprise.

D.J. Foster, Jacoby Brissett and Cyrus Jones are the other notable inactives for New England. The good news for the Patriots is that despite Floyd’s inability to pick up the offense, they have plenty of other dynamic weapons that have.
