Report: Tony Romo not planning to retire despite interest from TV
By Ross O'Keefe
Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo is not planning to retire this off-season despite interest from various networks for him to be a color analyst.
Tony Romo has an uncertain future ahead of him after losing his starting job to Offensive Rookie of the year, Dak Prescott. The Cowboys have not decided yet which direction they will go with him, but it is doubtful he stays with the Cowboys due to his large cap number.
He could be traded, he could be released, but he will not be retiring, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter who reports he had interest from TV networks should he walk away from the game.
Despite this, Romo does have interest from teams like the Denver Broncos and Houston Texans, whether the Cowboys choose to trade or cut him. Those two teams will likely be of interest to Romo also, as he will get a shot to start right away, and you could argue both of those teams are a good starting QB away from the Super Bowl.
The team that makes the most sense for Romo out of the two is the Denver Broncos. They have an excellent defense and a good offensive supporting cast that carried a declining Peyton Manning to a Super Bowl title.

Romo, at 37, his clock is running out as a starting QB and he will likely want to end his career on his own terms, with a Super Bowl ring. Something he has yet to grasp despite being on some good Cowboys teams, and playing very well himself. He always seemed to come up just short of making it.
Romo doesn’t have much time left in the NFL, but he doesn’t want to leave yet with the prospect of winning a Super Bowl with a title-ready team.
