Alleged Tom Brady jersey thief brags on Instagram (Photo)

The potential thief of Tom Brady’s jersey after Super Bowl 51 might have been dumb enough to brag about it on Instagram. 

Thieves are by nature very creative and deceitful people. They have to be fairly smart to pull off a heist. To pull one off after Super Bowl 51 requires delicate planning and execution. Tom Brady had his jersey stolen after his fifth Super Bowl. However, the alleged thief might be a bit lacking in common sense. Someone bragged about stealing Brady’s jersey on Instagram. Fair warning, it includes some NSFW hashtags.

Credit Ian Rapoport for some fancy internet detective work. If this is the true thief of Brady’s jerseys, he has to be one of the most idiotic criminals of all-time. This writer isn’t one to steal a legend’s dirty and stinky jersey, but even he knows bragging about it on social media would be extremely dumb. Why leave any proof of what you did?

Who knows? Maybe this guy is just trolling Brady. There’s no proof he stole it because who’s to say he didn’t put it down afterwards? He even admits it’s a joke and there’s no way a criminal could be this stupid. But at the very least, this Patriots fan is guilty of having a pretty terrible sense of humor. The authorities likely won’t take too kindly to this, as he put it, joke. It appears to be a fake, but don’t doubt the stupidity of the human race.

Brady’s jersey, though stinky and smelly, is one of a five-time Super Bowl champion. It could be worth a ton of money if sold. The NFL is investigating the incident, as the jersey will likely be displayed in Canton. Hopefully it’s displayed next to a deflated football and Brady’s five championship rings. And hopefully this guy isn’t the real culprit.
